Moments in Time

My name is Alex Tiberio and I am an outsider artist based in Pitkin, Colorado.  My art career started in 2016 when I started a jewelry business with my partner Kristi (Gothic Mountain Jewelers). Over the years we mastered our craft and gained a loyal local following.  In 2023, I turned my attention to oil paints as a way to cope with an injury and have not stopped painting since.  I paint using reference photos from my travels and am most drawn to images of the ordinary from interesting perspectives with an Americana feel to them. Once in the studio I use vibrant colors with a mix of realism and looser brushwork to create paintings that jump off the canvas, while creating a feeling of familiarity.
