Moments in Time

My name is Alex Tiberio and I am an up-and-coming outsider artist based in Pitkin, Colorado.  My art career started in 2016 when I started a jewelry business with my partner (www.gothicmountainjewelers.com). Over the years we mastered our craft and gained a loyal local following.  In 2023, I turned my attention to oil paints as a way to cope with an injury and have not stopped painting since.  I am most inspired by the impressionist movement, however rather than painting en plein air my process starts with a camera capturing images from my surroundings, moments in time.  Once in the studio I use vibrant colors with a mix of realism and looser brushwork to create surreal paintings of rural America and beyond.
